BARTOSZ NOWICKI THIS SUNDAY 8pm
The fourth and final of the online CHAOTIC project discussion sessions welcomes Bartosz Nowicki this Sunday evening 19 April at 8pm, discussing his work featured in the CHAOTIC #1 collaborative publication produced by seven photographers and Offline Journal.
Bartosz will discuss his photography and ‘RAW’ journals project, before taking questions from others who purchased a copy of CHAOTIC (just a few copies remaining - link to shop in bio). Invites have gone out via email to everyone who has a copy.
But as this is the final session, Offline is also making free invites available to the first five people to drop an email to [email protected] - simply put CHAOTIC BARTOSZ in the email subject line before 8pm Saturday 18 April. The first five will receive the invite for the online discussion being held on Zoom.
We hope you can join us 8pm Sunday 19 April to discuss photography!

MORE EYE FESTIVAL EXHIBITIONS

More information has been shared on exhibitions showing as part of The EYE International Photography Festival which comes to Newport in May 2026...
RON McCORMICK
'Newport Streets' is a selection of never before seen work from Ron McCormick's ongoing street photography made in the city over the last 25 years.
"The work explores the 'ZooPort' Newport street scene focussing on the banal and the ordinary, with unusual detail and surprising juxtapositions that confront us as we navigate the urban scene.", says Ron McCormick. "The work embraces perspectives on the architectural fabric and patina of the city 'roughscape', documenting the fleeting social interactions and micro-dramas that can often erupt in the blink of an eye".

TAIYE OMOKORE

Now based in Wales, Nigerian-born photographer Taiye Omokore's work explores the connections between his heritage and his adopted home. Drawn to the Welsh hat as an iconic symbol of Welsh national identity and popular in the 19th century, the photographer explored the hat in archives of past photographers, and noted lack representation of Black individuals and other minority communities who have long been part of Wales.
"This absence resonated with me, inspiring a reimagining of the Welsh hat that reflects both my Nigerian roots and the evolving multicultural landscape of Wales. In my series, l incorporated African fabrics, both as a backdrop and within the hats themselves, merging two cultures into a singular visual statement", says Omokore.
"This project is about more than representation-it's about reclamation. It challenges the idea of national identity as something fixed and exclusive, instead celebrating cultural fluidity and the contributions of Black communities to Welsh history. Through this work, I hope to expand the visual archive of Wales, ensuring that future generations see themselves reflected in its story."
Showing in the Riverfront Balcony Gallery on Saturday 16 May.
